Perth Museum: Young Architects Summer School

Curating the City

WAVEparticle, along with Fergus Purdie Architects, was commissioned by Perth & Kinross Council to deliver a 3-day creative workshop at Perth Museum, with a group of young people who have aspirations to be architects, builders of cities and space changers.

Over the course of three days, the young people were encouraged to think about how they might ‘curate the city’using Perth Museum’s collections and the idea of creating new spaces as the starting point.

Where would they place collection objects within the city? How might it change the environment around them? We encouraged the young people to do this through exploring a variety of creative approaches including drawing, modelling and digital creation.

The three days culminated in a wonderful exhibition of the work the young people created, on display at the museum for all to enjoy.
